TT Ricordi Marmo Font Family extends the series of experimental projects within the TT Ricordi font collection. The essence of these projects is to find hidden gems in inscriptions carved into old plaques and stones and bring them back to life in the form of modern typefaces under the name of TT Ricordi.
TT Ricordi Marmo is an original experimental project by Eugene Tantsurin inspired by inscriptions at Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence. While working on this project, we aimed to design a modern font that would feature the elements of a Florentine sans serif combined with more traditional visual solutions typical of serifs from that era. As a result, we have an eye-catching and a little provocative typeface with irregular serif distribution, unusual contours, and a free spirit.
In small point sizes, TT Ricordi Marmo makes a neutral impression, but as the size gets bigger, the user is taken on a playful quest to search for graphic peculiarities and unusual, inventive solutions. TT Ricordi Marmo is an excellent choice for poster design, packaging, and setting large and medium-sized short texts. Due to its unconventional character and versatility, the typeface will look equally great on a poster for a grand academic theater and an announcement of an acid rave party.
TT Ricordi Marmo includes a set of icons that can be used in several ways. There are decorative patterns that can substitute letters, adding a distinctive graphic element to the caption. Besides, these patterns serve to construct borders and interval marks or can be used as individual icons. All patterns are perfectly adapted to suit the letterform designs in the font.
TT Ricordi Marmo consists of 2 font styles and one variable font. Each font style contains over 630 glyphs and 18 OpenType features. Since we considered TT Ricordi Marmo a poster font from the beginning, lowercase characters are replaced with small caps. In addition, the typeface includes a set of peculiar ligatures, stylistic alternates, pointers, hands, and decorative icons.
