Extended information

TT Carvist Font Family is a bold condensed display typeface with an assertive and athletic aesthetic. At its core lies our TT Tunnels typeface, which has transformed into something completely new and unique.

TT Carvist is notable for its modular structure, 45-degree diagonal outer cuts, closed apertures, and distinctively large ink traps of the lowercase letters. Interestingly, the font doesn’t feature any round letterforms. For example, the tops and bottoms of the letters O and C are rounded, while the sides remain straight. This design choice is also present in the triangular glyphs like v, w, and y, which have straight stems.

The name of the typeface is a reference to stone carving, which is clearly seen in its characteristic traits: geometric precision and sturdy aesthetic. However, TT Carvist can be different. Its bold style looks solid and creates a sense of an impenetrable maze, leaving almost no white space between characters. The light font style, on the contrary, is gentle and elegant, with its pattern resembling weightless lace.

Besides, alternate characters and symbols were added to the typeface to enable customization for specific tasks and make the font even more peculiar. For example, we implemented “wicker” figures 3 and 8, the uppercase letters A and Y, which mirror the design of the lowercase ones, a distinctive lowercase E, a three-legged Cyrillic т, unusual u-turn arrows, and a unique symbol for @.

The Latin alphabet of TT Carvist has a gothic mood, whereas the Cyrillic one’s look is closer to the ancient decorative lettering. Still, the typeface looks fresh and modern, making it an excellent choice for book, magazine, and poster design, event announcements, and more.
