Maranatha FG is a renewal of Rudolf Koch's Marathon font. As yet, it comes in just one weight: Maranatha Book.
Marathon was cut by renowned typograph Rudolf Koch in several sizes. This font tries to emulate the size that was used in the 1951-1993 Protestant German hymn book ("Evangelisches Kirchengesangbuch" EKG) in many Antiqua editions. It contains a number of ligatures, some of which were used, not quite consistently, in that hymn book, namely the tz, which can be found on the } closing braces.
Use this font with kerning turned on, which also gives you automatic ch and ck ligatures. There is also a long s and the (irregular) ft ligature on {.
This font comes under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, encouraging both free use and further improvements. For details see https://scripts.sil.org/OFL. The reserved name is "Maranatha", originally a liturgical phrase of early Christianity, as in 1Cor 16:22, fitting for a hymn book typeface.

Diese Schriftart ist ein Remake der "Marathon" von Rudolf Koch. Bisher existiert nur der Schriftschnitt "Book". Die Marathon wurde von Koch in verschiedenen Größen geschnitten. Dieser Schnitt orientiert sich an der Verwendung in den Antiqua-Ausgaben des "Evangelischen Kirchengesangbuch (EKG), das von 1951 bis 1993 in Gebrauch war. Einige Ligaturen, die im EKG – nicht sehr konsequent – verwendet wurden, besonders die tz-Ligatur, die sich auf der schließenden geschweiften Klammer } findet.
Die Schrift enthält Kerning-Informationen, unter anderem werden die ch- und ck-Ligaturen auf diese Weise automatisch erzeugt. Etwas präzisere Nachschnitte finden sich auf den Zeichen < und >. Eine ft-Ligatur, die im Gesangbuchsatz ebenfalls oft vorkommt, liegt auf der {.
