Extended information
A font based on the Makita tool company logo.
I named it "La Femme Makita" because my wife will often help me on volunteer building projects while using my Makita tools, so I affectionately call her "La Femme Makita".
Read the included README for extensive info about the font and its features.

Greetings Makita Tool Enthusiast, Tradesman, or DIYer!
Thank you for downloading my font!
I am pleased to offer this font that has been a labor of love to you.
This font is my take on the letterset for the company logo for Makita power tools.
All that is required to install it is to open the .otf file and click "install"
I chose the name because my wife Viviana will help me on volunteer building projects
with Jehovahs Witnesses using my extensive Makita tool collection
and I affectionately call her "La Femme Makita".
She even has a Makita teal "hi viz" work vest she wears.
The objective of creating this font was not only to capture the ability
to type the specific letters of the Makita Logo M-a-k-i-t-a but to capture the spirit of the Makita logo
by having the lowercase letters connect at either the top or the bottom of a letter,
easy legibility throughout, and have the capitals step down in a manner similar to
the Makita "M" that also have an upper tail to the left in the same way.
This font is not necessarily designed with ALL CAPS typing in mind, as the capital letters all have the upper tails to the left
that can run together with the previous capital letter, and thus may not be as legible when used in a row.
If you so desire, i have created "small caps" letters within the font to be used in conjunction with the Upper caps letters
that many programs can utilize with font formatting options.
I have also designed a number of variants of specific letters for top connecting and bottom connecting,
and every lowercase letter has an extended "swoosh" that ends in a straight endcap as opposed to an angled endcap,
similar to the last "a" in the Makita logo.
Once again, this is a labor of love, and is not intended to violate any legalities
regarding any of Makita and its international companies.
This font is not for unauthorized redistribution and is not to be made for sale.
Makita is the copyright holder for their company name, and this font
is solely an expansion of the registered logo.
The font is listed as donationware under DaFont because of the time dedicated to
the creation of all the glyphs, but if your donation happens to come later or
not at all, that is fine as well. Im glad youve downloaded it regardless! :)
If you do appreciate my specific efforts in regards to this reimagining of the
Makita letters, you can donate by clicking the “donate to author” link
underneath the download button of this font on Dafont.com, or to my Paypal using
the email address [email protected] or @EliotTruelove,
Cashapp using $EliotTruelove, or Venmo using @Eliot-Truelove.
You can also offer feedback to that email as well. Feedback may include requests
for letter or symbol redesign, requests for use of the font in endeavors beyond
personal use (to be offered on a case by case basis), expressions of appreciation
with screenshots and pictures of how you've used it, and things like these.
Make sure the subject line reads “La Femme Makita Font Feedback” or
“La Femme Makita Font Question”.
Thank you once again for downloading, and have fun with it!
Best wishes,
Eliot & Viviana Truelove
