About Canyon Road

Canyon Road is a border font, containing four unique borders and a variation of one of the four, for a total of five borders. They are meant to be used as full borders, though I have included a pair of end caps for the two thinner borders on the "option-a" , "option-b", "option-shift-a", and "option-shift-b" keys. If I get any requests, I will be happy to add others, see the section on contacting the author.

This font is actually the TrueType version of a PostScript Type 1 font meant to work best with Monotype's BorderMaker utility. The Type 1 encoding has special information that makes it show up properly in BorderMaker's windows, However, you can also use the TrueType version in a regular word processing program by typing in the characters. Just use KeyCaps or some other utility to find out where the corners and straight parts show up.

Canyon Road is named after a road in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This road is a kind of an artists' colony. Much of the art found along Canyon Road is inspired by ancient Native American design. This font is similarly inspired, though modernized. I have not, for example, attempted to make it more "rustic" by roughing up the outlines.

Using Canyon Road

First, install the font in your system. Once installed, it can be used from any number of applications. Just make sure your application is set up so there isn't any extra space between either letters or lines. In other words, don't add any kerning or tracking and don't add extra leading.
